SMILE BITTER SMILE PROJECT
These were done way, way back in 2007. No one ever saw them… Until now. I figure it’s been two years since I’ve done these, and I may never get around to finishing them anyway. I just never found the time… Ah well, it’d be a waste to just let them rot in the corners of wherever, and they do show some ability to sequentially tell stories… So why not post them?
This was done on a whim… Kinda. There were thumbnails and things of the sort drafted out for it, but one day, I just decided to up and make a comic. Hammered away at it for a bit. I had the blues at the time that I came up with the characters and did this… There was one major point to this exercise, though. I wanted to see if I could properly convey emotion in characters. I wanted to try to make my work more emotive. And, somehow, that became the theme and objective of the work.
Props and a cookie to whoever can vaguely guess the premise. Or tell what’s going on…
Here's a clue: The main character was written to be a Mary Sue...
Reads Right-to-Left. Why? Because I find it challenging.
Links between the pages are forth-coming…
Coincidentally, this was the last time I touched a pencil. Now, I do my work in pen.
